Dr.Pia Salk...Spokesperson for Adopt-A-Pet
Let me introduce you to Dr.Pia Salk, she is one of the nicest people I have met on the internet, her love for helping animals is heartfelt and amazing, I really respect and admire her.
Dr.Pia is also a writer and the spokesperson for Adopt-A-Pet.com, North America's largest non-profit pet adoption website. She is a professor in the area of diversity and family systems and a frequent guest on national radio programs, speaking on such topics as companion animals being important members of the family. Her extensive involvement in animal rescue efforts and her expertise on animal welfare have been featured on many national shows including The Martha Stewart Show.
Check out the Adopt-A-Pet website and find it in your heart to help.
The painting of "Pickles" is Dr. Pia's dog that she saved and gave a wonderful rest of her life (Pickles had gone to doggy heaven last year) and shown here is my interpretation of Pickles in a painting.
Featured as well is a miniature painting of "Minnow" another Chihuahua that Dr. Salk has just adopted.
Thank You Dr.Pia for all you do for Pets that need help.

Oconomowoc WI. Plein Air 2010
I have to tell you these Plein Air event are a real challenge! I have to learn to paint more lose and fast...especially with the acrylics...I'm actually thinking of taking up oil painting for this.
Even though I had to travel 100+ miles for the painting each day, we had good weather. I went with Larry Schultz an artist friend of mine and shared a tent space at the Street Art show.
I sold a couple of small paintings including the small one shown here "Across the Lake" in the silent auction.

Flowers with colors..on Yupo Paper
A while back a fellow artist friend gave me a sheet of Yupo paper. Not knowing how to use it I finally decided to try some small paintings (4 images each 2.5" x 3.5" size overall size 7.5" x 3.5") Frame them separately or as shown in a group.
Most artists using Yupo paper are watercolorists, but I used Acrylic paint for this affect. It was a challenge, but in any event I had fun getting the different technique.
For Sale: very reasonably priced, all monies will be donated to a cause
$60 for 4 + $2.00 S/H

Edge of the Rock Plein Air painting Event 2010 Beloit Wisconsin
Edge of the Rock Plein Air painting Event in Beloit Wisconsin
This is my second attempt at Plein Air painting at Beloit, it's very challenging to paint on site with the weather elements and the none detail making for more of a lose style.
I'm not there yet...like I say it's a struggle to let go of detail, but the more I participate the better I will get...I'm sure of that.
Paintings are For Sale...

A wooden sign with a Fish
A new painting project for me....a wooden sign...This sign was done by my husbands friend who has a Woodworking hobby.
I painted the fish image (a type of trout) certainly a first for me, and a first painting with Rustoleum oil based paint...a challenge for me, but it got done and think it looks pretty good.

Since my right hand is in a brace, I was going to paint my pARTy painting (reference photo by Linda Shantz)with my left hand...well I decided to use my right hand instead and give myself 'one hour' by timer, just seeing what I will come up with...finishing after an agonizing hour, I decided it was ok and finished, although different from my norm artworks it was good to see that it was not too tight...admittedly a struggle but I managed, but am suffering this morning.

Xmas ornaments
I'm cleaning out my studio and "making order"...it seems to be a goal that comes with age, or maybe just my daughter E. saying, "Mom what do you want me to do with your art if anything happens to you? if it's not organized I'm giving everything to the Goodwill or throw it out!" Of course no pressure there!
I ran across a ZIP file...you do remember those! and noticed I had saved a great deal of images of my arts and crafts that I had given away over the years, truly things I forgot about, and actually was thrilled to see that I had saved images.
